My first main character/solo was in 3rd grade in an original show by Shauna McGuiness (my director at the time) which incorporated clever parodies of popular pop songs. It was a play on the classic "Robin Hood" fairytale and I played Robyn (with a y) who was a female Robyn yearning to join the merry men.
In 4th grade I played the villain (with the COOLEST costume) in yet another original show in which I was the "Evil Landlord". A very clever modern-day villain take if you ask me.
5th grade was when I got the lead in a 50's Cinderella parody, starring as "Cindy" with my main ballad being "The Great Pretender" by The Platters
6th and 7th grade were two very fun characters of Robinson Aye (Mary Poppins) and Max Detweiler (The Sound of Music) in which I really got to embrace my comedy and monologue skills.
8th grade was right in midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, in which live theater was a health risk. Online, I played Troy Bolton in High School Musical and got to experience what it was like to film theater rather than perform it in front of a live audience.
Right off the bat in high school I was super active in theater. I auditioned for the first show that I could: A Wrinkle in Time. Playing the part of Charles Wallace was truly fantastic: I got to experience so many different sides of the character and learn how to balance confusing and conflicting personality traits at once.
The spring musical of the same school year was The Addams Family, and I was very excited to be playing Wednesday Addams. As Wednesday, I got to highlight the specific elements of healthy belting and mixing and control in the upper range. On the acting side, I got to focus on deadpan comedic delivery and having emotions without wanting to show it.
In spring of 2022 I was inducted into my school's troupe of the International Thespian Society. I had spent over 100 hours on only high school theater by the end of Freshman year.
My most recent acting role has been in the short film "Time Travel on a Tuesday" through YATC summer camp. It was such a fun experience and great insight into the process of professional film making and mature set attitude.
